Honda's EV-N looks to past

EV-N’s cute retro looks belie futuristic technology underneath

09th October 2009

Cars don’t get cuter than this! The EV-N Concept is Honda’s battery-powered city offering for the Tokyo show, and a natural rival to Toyota’s iQ-based FT-EV II.

But whereas its rival’s looks draw from the future, the EV-N employs a retro-inspired design – mimicking the simplistic shape of the Honda N360 built between 1967 and 1970.

Despite this, the four-seat concept has plenty of future- proof technology to keep it ahead of the game.

Cutting-edge features such as a solar-panel roof, Honda UX-3 gyroscopic unicycle hidden in the passenger door and swappable seat fabrics complement the all-electric drivetrain. At night, the black front facia glows eerily with various light sequences.

At the show, the EV-N will sit beside the hydrogen-fuel cell FCX Clarity in the HELLO! zone – a special section of the Honda stand dedicated to the firm’s most environmentally friendly vehicles.

CUTE........? You mean, What a DOG...!!!!!! , is it me or is Honda losing the plot. I have owned a Civic VTi, Integra Type R, and they were great cars, but this is utter crap, small city cars can look cool, take the Toyota i Q. So come on Honda get back to making great cars again.
