Buyers given box boost

All Porsches to get paddleshift pdk option

PDK paddles

23rd October 2009

The twin-clutch PDK box, which is sure to appear on Porsche’s new 928, has proved controversial.

Introduced last year, the seven-speed set-up was praised for its ultra-fast changes, but criticised for the counter-intuitive wheel-mounted buttons that control it.

Bosses reacted to this by offering the new 911 Turbo with conventional paddles.

The £271 option works like rival set-ups, so drivers use the left lever to shift down and the right one to shift up. And Porsche has now said it will be available as an option across the entire range from January.
