We drove the mental Type R Mugen last month and were blown away by its high-revving powerplant and razor-sharp reactions. And now UK customers can experience it for themselves!
Based on the superb Honda Civic Type R, the limited-run super hatch has been tweaked by Honda specialists Mugen, to produce 237bhp (40bhp more than a factory-spec Type R). Other modifications include a limited slip differential, lightweight alloys and a wild bodykit.
A japanese-spec version of the car has already proved to be a big hit as Mugen's Vice President explained: "When we launched the Civic Type RR saloon in Japan, we sold out of all 300 units in just six minutes. Given the interest we have already had from car enthusiasts in the UK and abroad, we hope to repeat that achievement."
All 20 examples will be offered in championship white, Honda's official racing colour, and cost £38,599 each. Click on the video above to check out the Mugen in action.
How can they ask that price when you could go get a Focus RS with 300BHP for ALOT Cheaper. Around £10k Cheaper. That Civic is not worth £10k more than a RS
HOW CAN HONDA JUSTIFY THIS IF YOU WANT A STRIPED OUT HOT HATCH WHATS WRONG WITH THE MEGANE R26 IT HAS 10BHP LESS BUT COSTS 17K LESS ITS A NO BRAINER
That's cheered me up no end. I do like a good joke.
Nearly £40k for a Honda Civic?? I think I'd buy a Porsche Cayman instead and go on a great holiday with the change.
