Renault's electric dreams are becoming a reality! Just as Auto Express predicted, when we drove all of Renault's electric concepts last month, the Twizy, Zoe and Kangoo concepts have all been confirmed for production.
First up will be the Twizy - a 1+1 city car that bridges the gap between scooters and conventional cars. Production will begin in 2011 at Renault's Valladolid factory in Spain.
The same year will see the Kangoo Z.E., a small electric van, enter series production at the firm's Maubeurge plant in Northern France.
And last but not least, a clio-sized all-electric supermini, based on the Zoe concept will be built at the firm's Flins factory from 2012.

i was interested in buying a electric car until i found out that after u have bought the car which comes at some cost to a petrol/diesel car u then have to RENT the battery & the cost per month of this far excedes what most people now pay for fuel, as far as i am concerened forget saving the planet it is just not viable to run a electric car as it will cost MORE that a normal car.
The technology is no where near a usable/practical state.
