Gorden Brown is often accussed of not listening nothing could be more wrong,,he listended very carefully to the peoples opinions on the Lisbon treaty the Edinburgh and Manchester road priceing proposals
and that is why there was no Lisbon referendem and will be none on the workplace parking tax.
Although in principle the Government's car scrappage scheme has created demand to help manufacturers and dealers a like, it a shame that perfectly good road worthy cars are being scrapped. Cars made in last 20 years have much better rust proofing and more reliable. We have a very good 20 year old Fiesta, just got new MOT on it, still working and starts and runs perfectly. If emissions is a problem, why not develop a retro fit catalytic converter for old cars rather than just produce more new cars and all CO2 emissions that entails.
This is just a perfect example of todays throw away society rather than look after things and make things last!
