Dacia is anticipating a frosty reception for its latest model! Underneath the racing livery and bulging bodywork, this is the production version of Dacia's low-cost BMW X1 rival, the Duster, first seen as a concept at the Geneva show in March this year

The car shown here has been specially adapted to compete in the Trophée Andros ice-racing championship in France, hence the alpine setting. And the car will be driven by none other than four-time F1 champion Alain Prost.

Renaultsport modifications include narrow snow tyres, a 3.0-litre 350bhp engine and a stripped out interior keeping weight down to just 950kg, while a six-speed sequential gearbox feeds power to all four wheels.

There's no official word yet on when the production Duster will be revealed, but judging by the readiness of this competition car's bodywork, expect it to make an appearance at the Geneva show early next year.
