Baby Mazda 2 prepares for US debut

Mazda's mini marvel is going to hit the highway! The 2 will be available in the US from next year – paving the way for Ford’s Fiesta to follow it across the pond.

The 2010 version for the American market is set to debut at this week’s Los Angeles Auto Show – although its spec is not expected to change significantly from the model on sale here.

Ford’s supermini – our New Car of the Year 2009 – will also return to the US next summer, to tap into the growing trend for downsizing. The blue oval has already run an extensive online campaign to whet appetites for the Fiesta.
