Even before the A7 debuts, Audi is set to go one better – with the new A8.

Our exclusive scoop shots reveal the latest luxury car ahead of its official launch on 1 December, and show a daring design and an aggressive makeover for the nose. This will be carried over to the next A6 and A4, due in 2012 and 2014 respectively.

Inside, the A8 will debut Audi’s updated MMI system, ahead of its appearance on the A7 and other cars in the line-up. Engine choices will include the existing car’s 2.8-litre V6 and a flagship 4.2-litre V8. The thirsty, heavy-polluting 6.0-litre petrol W12 is likely to make way for a new 6.0-litre V12 TDI diesel. First official shots of the A8 will appear on autoexpress.co.uk on 1 December.
