Corsa cleans up act

Improved ecoFLEX model on the way

Merc cabrio’s cover blown

20th November 2009

If you can’t wait for the super-efficient Ampera, Vauxhall has cleaned up its supermini. The facelifted Corsa ecoFLEX isn’t quite capable of 180mpg, but still returns an impressive 76.3mpg.

Power comes from a 92bhp 1.3-litre diesel engine, which emits only 124g/km of CO2. Yet the ecoFLEX (right) isn’t the cleanest Corsa in the 2010 line-up.

There’s also a 64bhp 1.0-litre petrol model, which puts out 117g/km and promises 62.3mpg economy. Plus, a revised 1.4-litre machine offers 98bhp and 51.4mpg.

Models in the fresh range are available to order now, and benefit from revised steering and suspension, as well as subtle changes to the headlamps and radiator grille.
