It's the news that MG fans have been waiting for – the famous brand is making a return to the UK with a new model.
Speaking at the launch of the MG6 family hatch at the Guangzhou Auto Show in China, Chen Hong – president of owner SAIC – said: “We plan to begin producing the MG6 in the UK by the end of 2010.” According to the firm, the car has been designed and engineered in Britain for sale in the international market. It’s said to mark “the start of one of the most exciting periods in the 85-year history of the MG brand”.
Also revealed at the Guangzhou show was a facelifted VW Tiguan (right), with a simple two-bar grille. It should reach UK shores late next year.
