The legend lives on! These are the first official images of the all new Beetle, due on sale in the UK later in 2010.
The German firm picked the 2009 L.A Motor Show to pull the wraps from the historic model, which lined up alongside the new Up! Lite concept car.
The facelifted model is described as as the last evolution of the current machine gets unique paintwork, and will be available as a coupe and convertible.
Finished in pastel blue paint, the car also gets revised lights, and an updated interior.
An all new evolution of the VW Beetle is expected in 2012. Though details have yet to be confirmed, it will share its platform with the MkVII Golf, and could offer a hybrid engine.
Styling is said to be more agressive than the current model, which VW has dismissed as being "too soft".
