With sales boosted by the Scrappage Scheme, Kia is hoping for continued success by making their seven year/ 100,000 mile warranty available on all their cars.
The warranty, which was previously only offered on the European-built C'eed and Sportage, is the longest offered by any manufacturer and covers the car for seven years or 100,000 miles- whichever is reached sooner.
CEO of Kia Europe, Paul Philpott, announced the move as part of the Korean car-maker's plans to become the world-leading manufacturer for customer satisfaction.
As part of achieving this goal, Kia has also announced that the warranty can be passed on to subsequent owners. Aside from ensuring good residual values, the move will make used Kia's a tempting second-hand prospect.
The seven year warranty applies to all Kia's registered from 1 January 2010 but not all items are covered for the duration of the warranty. Paintwork is covered for 5 years, audio for 3 years and batteries are covered for 2 years.

Kia have really come along way in such a short space of time...
7 year warranties on all there cars really go to show that they have such confidents in them.....
Its also very reassuring for the consumers...
Good on Kia.....
Having seen the success of Hyundai with the 7 year warrenty, the same success should be on the cards. Having said that Hyundai have the better line up.
There are very few things that are actually covered in this 7 year warranty. A lot of the parts that are prone to wear and tear (rubber, seals, brake linings, etc.) are only covered for 3 years, audio and electrics 3 years, battery 2 years. The only parts that will come under warranty for 7 year are major parts such as the engine, gearbox, etc. There's two thing to note there. 1. How often do they give up in any car and 2. the 7 year warranty ends at 100000 mile, which with the average mileage being 20000 per year is only 5 years.
In other words, Kia will cover you for some parts for 7 year provided you don't drive your car much!

Few points to make there, average mileage is not 20,000 but 12,000 so over seven years that makes 86,000 miles so still loads to go. In reference to the warranty itself the last four years also covers starter motors, alternators, fuel system, wiring, hyrdaulics, ecus etc it pretty much covers everything bar the obvious wearing out items, so i advise you to look up the information before you comment on something, as it is actually a FANTASTIC warranty.
