The inside’s out on Volvo’s new S60. Bosses have released these first official pictures – and claim the saloon’s interior will be stylish and sporty enough to rival big guns Audi and BMW.
To match the car’s sleek shape, there’s a chic-looking dash and three-spoke steering wheel, plus sculpted seats.
Options include Adaptive Cruise Control, a Park Assist camera and a Pedestrian Detection system, which applies the brakes if someone steps out in front of the car.
As with every Volvo, there will be an eco DRIVe variant. The S60 emits only 115g/km of CO2.
Buyers also get the option of a 202bhp twin-turbo D5 diesel and a 3.0-litre T6 turbo petrol. There’s a new 2.0-litre GTDi direct-injection petrol, plus a 2.0-litre five-cylinder diesel.
A clever Four-C active chassis can be specified – this adjusts the dampers according to road conditions. The S60 is available with either a Comfort or Dynamic chassis set-up as standard.

If this drives well, it will definitely be on the top of my list. Miles better looking than the boring german clones.
Looks quite good on these pics - hope the ride and handling are improved over the old one or its going to be a flop. Better quieten down those diesel engines as well. Still, more exciting than Audi/VW/Skoda dross...
Colour & Beige Cardigans!
What is it with the current fad of brown and beige splattered all over the new models from the manufacturers?
Audi started it recently with its show cars and now Volvo has done too with its new press pictures of its latest S60 and crudited it in this ghastly colour!
I know Volvo`s can be associated with the green welly set, but this dont help sell a executive sports saloon in my opinion...
Other than this particular gripe, I hope this S60 Volvo drives as good if not better than a Mondeo, and then maybe it can be justified in charging the premium and take on the Germans (plus the best of the Japanese) a little bit more effectively... Competition is vital for lifting the model sectors and keeping all manufacturers on their toes...Ultimately the consumer being the winner...
I will reserve judgement on the car until I see it in a less cruddy colour!
