Black magic for Clio’s birthday special

New version of superministar celebrates 20 years on sale

Clio

12th February 2010

Two decades on and still going strong! Renault’s Clio turns 20 this year, and a special edition has been launched to mark the occasion.

The car features ‘20th’ badging on the B-pillars, plus a gloss black finish for the front bumper and door mirrors. Climate control, extra-tinted rear glass and cruise control with a speed limiter are included as standard.

On sale now, there’s a choice of four engines; two petrol and two diesel. The former are a 1.2-litre TCe turbo at £14,671 and a 1.6-litre VVT 128 at £15,421. The diesels are 86 or 106bhp versions of the 1.5-litre dCi unit, priced at £15,643 and £16,595. Only five-door cars are available.

The firm is also launching a 20th anniversary Renaultsport Clio, although it won’t be coming to Britain. But its black roof will be available as a £408 option for UK Renaultsport Clio buyers.
