Three is the magic number for Suzuki's upcoming supermini! These are the first pictures of the Japanese firm's next-generation Swift in three-door guise but the question is, can it emulate the success of the current model?
Suzuki has stuck to the tried and tested formula with the styling and through the heavy camouflage it's clear to see the car will retain its unique design, with the rounded nose, short rear overhang and purposeful stance all visible.
Our sources tell us there will be a strong range of petrol engines, delivering between 90bhp and 130bhp to the front wheels. A new 80bhp 1.3-litre diesel option will be added to the line-up, and we’ve already heard rumours that a hybrid variant will be making an appearance late in 2011.
Plus, there will be a successor to the popular Swift Sport hot hatch. The newcomer is scheduled to make its world debut at the Paris Motor Show in October this year.

It looks just like the current Swift. No radical redesign here!
Oh great, another Susuki Swift... that has to be the most exciting news this year... NOT! As expected - dull as ditchwater. Do people actually buy Suzuki's these days, and do they still have that naff tiny digital clock/watch poorly placed on the dashboard?
1st of all, it's not an all-new model it's a facelift, so there won't be much difference in looks.
And James, seeing as you like too talk big, what car do you drive??? Ever gone in a Swift??
the Japanese know how to make car's and I certainly will only ever own a Jap car and they more than likely will only be Suzuki.
i owned a suzuki ignis sport many years ago and really enjoying it even if it was a little crude.
i looked at a swift sport a few years later,it was a cracking drive ,i so nearly bought it,but i ended up buying a Colt CZT though as the swift just lacked the power however it certainly sparkled,i wish Suzuki would give it more power as 123bhp from 1.6 is pretty low i am sure they could extract way more making the car a true bargain hot hatch.
It's ashame the Swift is not a true jap car being that its made in hungary.
