Bentley introduces China specials

Crewe firm shows off market-specific Conti GT and Flying Spur Speed

Bentley Continental China Edition

23rd April 2010

Meet the Bentleys with a Chinese flavour. These two unique Continental models have been engineered and designed exclusively for the Chinese market and have just been unveiled at the Beijing Motor Show.

The Chinese car market is tipped to become the largest in the world this year, and is also Bentley’s third biggest, with the firm selling 421 cars in 2009, a ten-fold increase since it entered the market in 2002.

The Continental GT Design Series China features bespoke colour and trim, including a three-tone leather interior colour scheme. The interior is also graced with a special Amboyna veneer which is unique to the China cars.

The Continentals are also the first to feature Bentley’s new Orange Flame and Magenta Metallic paint finishes and get special Design Series China badges.

The Flying Spur Speed China also benefits a bespoke comfort suspension setting which has been developed specially for Chinese roads, and an exhaust which has been re-tuned to make less noise.

Markets

@ dllwelyn. Its for the Chinese market, and its not markets for everyone. Like for example how cars are designed for the "European market" and mentioning "pink cars with yellow interiors" is just an idiotic comment only market at people from Teletubby land. Please use more common sense before you make a "crass" comment.

Market awareness

Fascinating. Had the British car industry (Austin,Morris, Hillman, etc.) cared about foreign markets back in the 1950's as Bentley does now, there would still be a British automotive industry.

@Julianlee4. How is selling something in China "become Slave to China"? China is now the worlds largest emerging market. A coment like yours certainly is biggoted and if you did have ANY knowledge of the "Tiger economy". You`d be rich by now!!

'scuse me...

'Scuse me, but Paul Tibbets and I produced the 'orange flame' paint colour at Bentley back in '98 model year - think it was actually the Arnage launch colour.... At the time, Bentley's brand values included 'daring' and 'certainty' so I guess that, now everyone elses paint colour palettes have caught up with an 'orange' in they're ranges, it was a pretty good call. Oh, and by the way, it's not a metallic, it's a palliochrome, which is an iron oxide coated mica. Expensive, but real depth.
