Say hello to something a little bit extra special – the limited edition Clio Gordini 200.
Available to order now, Only 500 examples will come to the UK from July onwards, with each costing a grand total of £19,650 on the road, and each car will come with a numbered plaque showing the build number.
The classic Gordini colours - Malta Blue metallic finish with twin white racing stripes on the bonnet, roof and tailgate – are in keeping with famous predecessors like the Renault 8 racer which swept to victory in the 1964 Corsica Rally.
Underneath, the Clio is mechanically identical to the Renaultsport 200, which means it has the same naturally-aspirated, high revving 2.0-litre engine putting 200bhp through the front wheels. The harder ‘Cup’ chassis can also be specified, but costs an extra £410.
The styling pack includes a front bumper enhanced with a gloss black grille surround and white F1-style aero splitter. While the door mirrors are highlighted in white to match the stripes. Exclusive 17-inch ‘Gordini’ alloy wheels with a polished face and black inner rims (or blue for an extra £100) and ‘Gordini Series’ badging finish the visual tweaks on the outside.
Inside, the sports seats and all the major controls are finished in grey leather will blue detailing, and Gordini logos can also be found dotted throughout the cabin.
If the original colours don’t immediately grab you then don’t worry - the Clio also comes in black or white (with the contrasting stripes in either white or anthracite) and if you want to keep a low profile, the iconic stripes can also be removed.
