The wraps are coming off BMW’s hottest ever 1er! It’s called the 1-Series M Coupé to avoid re-using the M1 badge associated with BMW’s iconic supercar, and judging by this latest teaser, it’s set to be real a looker.

 


Immediately obvious are the striking ‘M’ division alloy wheels and muscular bodykit.  At the rear, the silhouette reveals an integrated boot-lid spoiler and four large exhaust tips.

Power reportedly comes from the same 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged engine found in the current range-topping 135i. Tweaks to engine software will boost power from 302bhp to nearer 350bhp in the newcomer.

That means that the 0-62mph time will plummet from 5.3 seconds to around 4.6 seconds. Top speed will be electronically limited to 155mph.

The 1-Series M Coupé is likely to be fully revealed at the Paris Motor Show towards the end of September with sales starting in summer next year. Expect a price-tag of around £35,000.

This means it only be like 60bhp off the m3, but with 2 less cylinders.

Great engine by the sounds, still going to be one of the ugliest car on the road though!

What I dont get is, BMW sell many cars and must make a good profit each year, why cant they use some of that to employ a real designer! Drop those god awful twin headlights and give us something new you boring gits!

At last, an exciting BMW...

About time, a car from BMW that will embody the spirit of the old 2002ti. I'm really excited about this car, and I haven't said that about a BMW for a very long time...
