Ford has put a price on its new C-MAX and Grand C-MAX ranges. The five-seat version will cost from £16,745 when sales begin in October, making it more expensive than the base mode Renault Scenic and Vauxhall Zafira, and top out at £21,995.
Prices for the Grand C-MAX, complete with its practical sliding doors, begin at £18,745 and rise to £23,245.
Ford will offer two trim levels, entry-level Zetec and range-topping Titanium, on both the C-MAX and Grand C-MAX, and all models will feature alloy wheels, air conditioning, leather steering wheel, DAB radio/CD and Bluetooth with USB connectivity and voice control. The seven-seat Grand C-MAX gets rear parking sensors.
The Titanium trim adds auto lights and wipers, climate control keyless go, cruise control and more.
As for engine choices, the C-MAX range will be powered by a choice of three petrol and two diesel engines. These units will also be offered in the new Focus, which arrives next year. The entry-level engine is a 104bhp 1.6-litre petrol, with a 123bhp version of the same engine, and a new 148bhp 1.6-litre EcoBoost unit topping the petrol range.
The Grand C-MAX doesn’t get the entry level petrol, but can be had with the higher-powered petrols or the range of oil burners, which includes a 113bhp 1.6-litre and 138bhp 2.0-litre unit which can be specced with Ford’s Powershift twin clutch gearbox.
