The Jaguar XF is going back to its roots! These spy shots reveal the executive saloon is set to receive a few cosmetic tweaks, including swept-back headlights like those seen on the C-XF concept car which served as the current model’s inspiration.
It’s a look similar to the larger XJ and should help to establish a family face for the Jaguar brand. The XJ’s bold rear lights won’t make an appearance on the updated XF though, with a set of full LED units more likely.
Underneath the bonnet, there won’t be any new engines but the existing units will be tweaked for more power and lower emissions.
The big news though, is the arrival of an XF Estate car which will debut alongside the facelifted saloon model.
Expect both new models to go on sale at the end of 2011.

Guess this will be the closest to getting the C-XF concept look a like. hope the grill is a bit more slabbed faced than the current slopey grill. think it will give it a better dominating look.
About time, the current headlights are hideous. A lesson in how to kill a otherwise nice looking car.
I think the current car looks perfect and way better than the XJ, but I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder
Although Auto Express (The Sun) reckons it wont get new Engines, Autocar (The Times) and Car (The Guardian) reckon it will get a 2 litre Diesel
The new XJ has familiarised us all with Jaguars new 'face', and while it's no beauty, it's certainly bang up to date. Now the XF will get the look it should have had from the start, but Jaguar wouldn't risk on its core model initially. I just hope the headlights are in proportion to the grille, which is my personal gripe with the XJ.
Its curious how all that disguise can give a car a very slab sided look, but of course the current XF is a real good looker in the metal. My hope is they fix the hideous lights on the original. People wept when the XF-C morphed into the XF. My other hope is Jaguar spend some real time [at Audi !!] learning about panel gaps and shut lines. They slavishing just followed [as distiinct from lead] with rear lights running to the boot lid, and the almost guaranttee that sooner or later they will all misalign. If manufacture is not up to scratch, the will misalign as they leave the factory. The other gap that seriously jarred with me was the monumental gap where the bonnet met the front of the car. Is this a mishap of photography, or the real thing? I've seen the car in Oz, but not yet stationary. Hope I'm wrong!!
