The Orlando has landed! Chevrolet has confirmed that its new MPV will cost from £16,395 when it arrives in the UK next Spring. Three trim levels and three engines will be available, including a pair of diesels to choose from.

The entry level Orlando is badged LS, and gets air conditioning, electric windows and mirrors, six airbags, three 12v power sockets, tinted windows and an adjustable steering wheel as standard.

All models also benefit from Chevy’s family-friendly second rear-view mirror, so those in the front can keep an eye on rear-seat passengers, plus a hidden cubby hole behind the stereo facia designed to keep iPods away from prying eyes.

The LS is available with the 141PS 1.8-litre petrol engine, or a new 130PS 2.0-litre diesel unit, the latter of which also comes with a six-speed manual gearbox as standard.

The mid-range LT model adds rear parking distance sensors, a USB port, 16-inch alloy wheels, climate control, and an upgraded sound system with steering wheel audio controls, while the top-spec LTZ gets 17-inch alloys, automatic cruise control, and automatic headlights and wipers.

The LS is available with the 139bhp 1.8-litre petrol engine, or a new 128bhp 2.0-litre diesel unit, while the LT and LTZ can be had with an additional 161bhp 2.0-litre diesel.

Buyers of diesel-engined LTZ Orlandos can opt for the Executive Pack. It costs £2,000 and includes full leather upholstery, heated front seats, satellite navigation and 18-inch alloy wheels.

Set the scene...

Woman says to man...

"Oh no, Quentin, there's a man with a camera. FOR HEAVENS SAKE, DON'T TAKE A PIC...". "That's the final straw, I'm divorcing you on the grounds of unreasonable behavior. STOP NOW, I WANT TO SEE MUMMY..."

Chrysler made me do it.

As the Dodge Journey is no longer available in the UK (and just when it gets a smart interior!) this might be my only option for a cheap seven seater that doesn't look like a van or a mum's car.

Come on Skoda, give us that 7 seat Yeti! (Bigfoot?)
