The smallest M car has finally been revealed! Following months of teaser videos and
early prototype test drives, BMW has finally given us our first glimpse of the 1-Series M Coupé.
The pictures were taken from a teaser video posted on YouTube, but no further official details were released.
From information pieced together so far we know that the M Coupé is powered by a turbocharged straight-six, as in the 135i, though with power upped to about 350bhp.
This is fed to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox and a version of the M3's clever rear M differential. It's likely that a dual-clutch automatic will be offered too.
It should all add up to a 0-62mph time of under five seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph.
Expect to see the M Coupé in showrooms at the beginning of next year for around £40,000.
