Even Rolls-Royce does special editions! To celebrate the 100th birthday of the firm’s iconic Spirit of Ecstasy emblem, this year, Rolls will build 100 bespoke Phantoms which feature extras which are inspired by the flying lady emblem.

Each of the 100 cars features a special silver cast Spirit of Ecstasy with a black-gold-plated base inscribed with the words Spirit of Ecstasy Centenary – 2011. The edition cars also feature a new, specially-designed badge which reverses the conventional design, with white enamel RR detail set on a black chrome background.

There are just four paint colours to choose from, but, in true Rolls-Royce style, each is pretty special. Rhapsody Black is metallic black with gold sparkles in it, Maiden Blue is deep blue with silver sparkles, Ethereal White Pearl comes with a special pearlescent finish while Wildflower is a blend of red and brown with extra sparkles.

On the inside, Collection cars come with an analogue clock fitted in the fascia panel, monogrammed dials and a solid Britannia Silver commemorative plaque engraved with the inscription Spirit of Ecstasy - One of One Hundred. The glovebox also bears a quotation from the designer of the Spirit of Ecstasy, Charles Sykes.

Owners will also receive a polished steel Spirit of Ecstasy mounted on a piano black base to use as a desk ornament.
