Audi has named its price for the fastest A1 yet. Boasting a hot-hatch-baiting 183bhp and 250Nm of torque, it uses the same 1.4-litre twin-charged engine as lesser models in the range, but tweaked to extract extra performance.
That translates to a scant 0-62mph sprint time of just 6.9 seconds and 141mph top speed, truly impressive figures for any supermini. What's more, the small capacity engine means that the A1 1.4 TFSI is still capable of returning 47.9mpg on the combined cycle and emits just 139g/km of C02.
The front-wheel drive newcomer also comes with Audi's seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission, and XDS electronic diff and S line trim as standard. The S line spec includes sporty exterior styling, 17-inch alloy wheels and leather trimmed sport seats on top of the generous standard kit.
There is a price to pay however, as the A1 1.4 TFSI will set buyers back £20,705 when it goes on sale this week, but will remain at the top of the range until the quattro four-wheel drive version arrives later this year.

Probably the worlds most expensive Polo in the world. It doesn't even look the part at 20k. Probably more like 25k when you put the options on. I'd rather have a DS3 anyday.
Or you could have an ibiza Cupra and save at least 5K
Or get a Skoda VRS, now with discount to match VAT free so it's about 6/7k cheaper and still has the same engine, 7 speed DSG and almost the same 0-60 time. Who would pay a 50%+ premium just to have the audi badge? Not me that's for sure, particularly as the Skoda dealerships are nicer to deal with. (personal experience)
Walter De Silva has produced another great looking Audi! Very desirable but very expensive for what it is.

Agree with you there. Skoda is now consistently found in the top manufacturers of the JD Power Customer Satisfactios survey.
No doubt the muggs would buy this as it has an Audi badge.
I can't understand how Audi can expect people to pay that much for this. The £20k+ will presumably be the base price, so with necessary 'extras' it will come in at much more than this. Go Skoda!
Don't think so, this has a far better build than all that you have mentioned above, just like all the VAG range Skoda bottom of the pile, then Seat, VW and top for quality is Audi. Maybe you shold drive them one after the other and you will see
Don't get me wrong the price is high but the quality is there
nice informations.. on good website..
Audi want a piece of Fiesta Market. VW have better offers on the Polo's. It looks like a storm trooper from Star wars especially in White!
