The great Lamborghini supercar teaser campaign continues! Following a host of 'official' spy shots, the firm has now released a video of the V12 Murcielago successor being put through its paces.
Sporting a monochrome swirly camouflage, the video gives us a close up look at the car, revealing angular air vents and a razor-sharp nose, inspired by the ultra-rare Reventon. Also visible are the huge airvents in the side pods and behind the windows, the latter which will extend upwards at high speed to provide extra cooling to the 12-cylinder engine.
Tipped to be called the Aventador when it goes on sale in March, the new flagship will be powered by a 6.5-litre V12 producing an astonishing 690bhp and 690Nm of torque. Top speed is confirmed at 217mph and the 0-62mph sprint will take just 2.9 seconds.
Power reaches the road via a seven-speed robotized gearbox which swaps cogs in just 50 milliseconds and an electronically-controlled Haldex four-wheel drive system. What’s more, it will feature a motorsport-derived pushrod suspension system inspired by Formula 1.
lightweight aluminium double wishbones and carbon ceramic brake discs keep weight to a minimum at each corner, while the new suspension also includes a lifting system for the front axle, which raises the front suspension by 40mm at the touch of a button, allowing the car to negotiate speed bumps. Also fitted is electro-hydraulic steering which has three different modes which can be changed depending on driving conditions.
Other tech highlights include the confirmation that the new car will feature a carbon fibre monocoque, helping to cut weight from 1,650kg down to 1,575kg, jet-fighter-style TFT dials and electronically-controlled rear spoiler and side intakes.
We'll have all the details on the fastest Lamborghini to date when it breaks cover on March 1.

I think this should be called Aventador because everyone's calling it that even though it's not official. One way or the other, this car's going to look the sexiest ever. I've always loved the Murcielago, but I'm still loving this already!
This is basically a Reventon with Gallardo sides. So can't wait to see this come out.
Lambo's damn they're so good looking!
This video should be mandatory viewing for all Chief Executives of every council in this fair land. Note deep snow all around but road completely clear!
I get excited like the next guy about a new Lambo, but it looks like the guys in Italy have decided to play it safe. As mentioned above...the sides are Gallardo, the front Reventon...and the rear for me is almost Testarossa. I'm sure it will sell, but it ain't no Countach (i.e radical styling applied). It sounds good. I'll have one in Tahiti Blue thanks.
