Suzuki teases Swift S-Concept

Scorching Suzuki Swift Sport hot hatch returns, debuts at Geneva Motor Show in concept form.

Suzuki Swift S-Concept

Suzuki has released the first image of its new flagship version of the Swift. Likely to follow in the same vein as the previous Swift Sport, the new hot hatch is set to feature a host of upgrades which transform the supermini into a sharp-driving hot hatch.

Although the Swift S-Concept doesn’t give much away, you can make out an aggressive new front bumper inspired by the larger Kizashi saloon, while there’s a large, angular rear wing protruding from the rear tailgate. The car is painted in Suzuki’s signature yellow motorsport colour.

The previous Swift Sport featured a 123bhp 1.6-litre naturally aspirated engine, making it powerful enough, yet insurance-friendly too, while the car also benefited from motorsport-inspired Monroe dampers.

The full details of the Suzuki Swift S-Concept will be released at the Geneva Motor Show.

Fingers crossed

Interesting to see if they up the power on this one - after teasing for ages with the last model, and it doing so well in rallying, the 123BHP it had when launched was disappointing when compared to the likes of the Clio 197 and Mini Cooper S.
Sure, it was cheaper than those cars, but I'd like something that goes like a Clio 197 but won't break down or fall apart - shame the Japanese manufacturers don't have anything like that at the moment.
