Volvo is celebrating its fourth year of involvement in sailing’s most gruelling event, with the launch of three Ocean Race themed special editions.

Based on the V60, XC60 and XC70 models, the Ocean Race cars feature a choice of either Volvo Ocean Blue II or Electric Silver interior colours, with sail-inspired leather upholstery in black and beige with embossed Volvo Ocean Race logos on the backrests of the front seats.

Exterior upgrades include unique alloys, chrome trim and the Volvo Ocean Race emblem on the front wings.

Volvo is yet to confirm engine variants or pricing for the Ocean Race models, although the firm has announced that it expects to sell 7,500 units worldwide when the models go on sale next month.

Meanwhile, the fourth Volvo Ocean Race gets underway in Alicante, Spain, on October 29 and finishes in Galway, Ireland, on July 7, 2012.
