Meet the ultimate Panamera! This is the Turbo S, the new flagship to Porsche’s four-seater range. Taking the standard Turbo as its base, Porsche has uprated the 4.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 with improved turbos with titanium-aluminium turbine wheels and modified engine management software.
The result is 550bhp, up from 500bhp in the regular Turbo. Torque also jumps 50Nm to 750Nm in normal running, but this is increased to 800Nm when the Sport and Sport Plus modes of the standard Sport Chrono Package are selected
This means the car is capable of 0-62mph in 3.8 seconds when using Porsche’s clever launch control system, and it can rocket on to 191mph. Despite the upgrades, fuel economy remains the same as the standard Turbo, at 24.6mpg.
As well as the Sport Chrono Package, standard equipment includes Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control, which actively counters body roll in corners, Porsche’s torque vectoring system and a sports exhaust. 20-inch alloys, a slight increase in rear track and new side skirts are also included.
Inside, Porsche has fitted black and cream two-tone upholstery which is excusive to the Turbo S. A grey and cream option will also be offered.
The Turbo S will make its debut next month before going on sale in June. Prices start from £122,623.
