It’s as close as you’ll get to a 911 race-car for the road! These leaked images reveal our first look at the limited edition GT3 RS 4.0 – a lightweight, track-focused 911 with around 500bhp.
Unlike other GT3 models in the line-up, the newcomer gets the same 4.0-litre flat-six cylinder engine from Porsche’s GT3 RSR racing car. With the GT3 RS weighing in at 1,370kgs and the RS 4.0 expected to be even lighter expect to see a 0-62mph time of around 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 200mph.
Thought to be limited to around 500 units the RS 4.0 is differentiated from the GT3 RS by a unique white paintjob with grey and red details.
There’s a few extra aerodynamic tweaks to deal with the extra power, including a redesigned front bumper which gets small turning vanes mounted on either side of the car.
Inside, the RS 4.0 gets a stripped out, lightweight design which mimics the exterior’s white, red and grey design. The seats are made of alcantara and leather while the sat-nav, radio and air-conditioning are all left out to cut weight.
The first customer deliveries are expected in July but the car should go on sale in May with a price tag of around £130,000 – about £25,000 more than the GT3 RS.
