Alfa Romeo has made its MiTo range more enticing than ever with lower entry prices, a streamlined range, higher standard specifications and three new engines, including a Congestion Charge-busting diesel.
Providing a fun way to dodge both annual Road Tax and the capital's £10 daily fee, Alfa’s new 1.3-litre JTDM-2 engine puts out 85bhp and 95g/km CO2, slightly less powerful than the current 95bhp unit. Alfa is also introducing an entry level 1.4-litre 78bhp petrol with an auto stop/start system for improved emissions and mpg. And, at the more powerful end of the spectrum, a new 1.4-litre MultiAir 105bhp model which offers superior power, torque and better mpg than the current 95bhp engine.
Prices have been cut across the range too, and the trim levels have all been simplified, cutting the range from 17 to nine models, with new trim levels Progression, Sprint, Distinctive and Quadrifoglio Verde replacing the previous set, which ranged from entry 'Turismo' to top-spec Cloverleaf.
Distinctive and Quadrifoglio Verde both gain equipment including cruise control, sporty alloy pedals and rear parking sensors. Alfa is also bringing out a new exterior colour, Metal Bronze, and one new upholstery choice, Sprint Bronze.
The refreshed MiTo models go on sale next month, starting at £12,250 for the 1.4 78bhp Progression, rising to £17,955 for the turbocharged 170bhp Quadrifoglio Verde.
