After Skoda’s success in Driver Power 2011, it's feeling generous with a new range-wide trim level, SE Plus. Bundling thousands worth of equipment at discounted prices, SE Plus slots between existing SE and Elegance trims.

SE Plus adds a multi-function steering wheel to all models, touch screen sat nav and Bluetooth to the Octavia, Superb and Yeti and climate control to the Fabia and Roomster.

SE Plus Octavias also gain rear-parking sensors and start from £16,365, while Superbs bag privacy glass from £21,350. The Fabia acquires electric rear windows and front seat storage boxes from £11,825. Skoda’s Roomster gains roof rails and 15-inch alloys from £13,560, while Yeti models acquire a CD autochanger, seatback tables and electric front seats from £17,410.

Skoda is also introducing two new SE Plus exclusive engines, a 1.8 TSI 150bhp for the Octavia, Superb and Yeti and an Octavia-bound 108bhp 2.0 TDI.

The 1.8TSI engine powers the Octavia to 62mph in 7.8 seconds while returning 40.9mpg and warranting £165 road tax (Superb 8.6 seconds, 39.2mpg, £190, Yeti 8.4 seconds, 35.3mpg and £245). The new 2.0 TDI returns 58.9mpg and 126g/km CO2 (£95 road tax) and saunters to 62mph in 11.0 seconds.

SE Plus models are available from 3 May.
