Goodwood's Moving Motor Show was once again blighted by a crash - but luckily unlike last year no one was injured in the crash, which took place on the circuit rather than the crowded show pavilion.
A member of the public lost control while at the wheel of the turbocharged T5 version of Volvo's C30 hatchback, on one of the very first runs of the morning at around 9:30am.
A spokesman for Volvo, who was in the passenger seat at the time of the crash, said that the driver had sped quickly off the line, and despite several verbal warnings, the driver failed to brake for a tricky right-hand corner, and the car understeered wide before suffering a heavy front impact before coming to rest.
"I think he just got over excited, it wasn't the most pleasant experience of my life, but the car did its job, the airbags deployed and no one was hurt." the spokesman continued.
The incident meant that the track had to be closed off for half an hour while the striken car was towed away from the circuit by an emergency vehicle, but after a short delay things quickly resumed.
Honda, who were responsible for a crash in the pavilion last year, made up for this time round with a huge ferris wheel that overlooked the grounds of Goodwood house, although the same Mügen Civic was also running up the hill throughout.
