It’s one of 2011’s most anticipated cars – and the first Range Rover Evoque has been driven off of Land Rover’s Halewood manufacturing line in Liverpool yesterday.
The first production Evoque will be donated to the British Motor Industry Heritage trust, with the first buyers expected to take delivery in September. The Evoque is available in three and five-door form with a choice of 2.0 litre turbo petrol and 2.2 litre turbodiesel engines, with prices starting at £27,955.
See the video of the first production Evoque here:
Breaking new ground for Land Rover, it features concept-inspired looks and extensive use of lightweight materials helping to deliver claimed fuel returns of 50mpg. “The Evoque is an incredibly exciting vehicle that joins a product
range which across both of our brands is the strongest we’ve ever had,”
Land Rover chief executive officer Dr Ralf Speth Chief commented.
The company has already received a staggering 18,000 advance orders from customers worldwide and so important is the Evoque that the workforce at Halewood has doubled; now exceeding 3,000.
The model plays an important role in one of the 40 new product actions to be undertaken by Jaguar Land Rover over the course of the next five years in what will be the most ambitious market assault in either brand’s history.

I really like the look and idea of this car, but's it's just too expensive.
Sorry old technology and a 6 speed box, no premium car maker still has a 6 speed box. lets see what it performs like, and check build quality/reliability.
I have to congratulate TATA for being the first Land Rover owner with brains and balls. For them to make so much profit after so many years making losses while increasing the workforce and boosting the UK economy is just fantastic. Yes, this model is a bit old tech, but new models down the line should bring new tech to this excellent model. Maybe even a Hybrid version to help increase economy.
When you consider the model range that they inherited, TATA seem to have the magic touch when it comes to new models.
The Evoque is slightly out of my league, so I'll wait for the new smaller model that was mentioned a few months back. The entire model range, both Jaguar and Land Rover, does have a freshness about it which should ensure its future success.
id rather have an audi Q5. doesnt really matter cause no of them can actually do what they are supposed to, GO OFF OAD
