The CRV is already half a size bigger than the new group of compact crossovers like the Qashqai, ASX, Peugeot 3008,Yeti. If this concept is longer still (and I agree that it looks like it will be), then it will be half a size bigger again ie in another category. Does that suggest that Honda needs a smaller crossover about 4200-4300 mm in length, msybe on a stretched City/Jazz platform, or a shortened Civic platform? Something about the size of the ahead- of-its-time HRV maybe?
I have to agree with the comments above - the new CRV looks great but seems massive - something to compete with the Nissan Qashqai/Mitsubishi ASX would be better.
This year I traded in my Honda Civic 1.8SE for a Skoda Yeti 140TDi SE 4x4 because the CRV is too BIG. It did help that the Yeti is a brilliant car though!! The number of problems I had with the Civic was very disappointing - the quality of the Yeti is streets ahead!
