Stunning Lexus LFA roadster planned for production in 2014

Lexus is opening up about its future plans for the LFA supercar – and they involve a stunning roadster. The Japanese luxury brand will put a special drop-top version of its incredible 552bhp 4.8-litre V10-engined flagship into production in 2014, a year or so after it expects to finish delivering the 500-model run of fixed roof coupes.

The LFA Roadster first appeared in thinly disguised concept form at the 2008 Detroit Motor Show, with Auto Express spying several drop-top prototypes at the same time.

It’s not clear whether the hood will be made of metal or canvas – but whatever the material, it will be as lightweight as possible. Expect a price tag of around £400,000 – £25,000 more than the coupe.

That’s not it for new Lexus models, though. The firm’s BMW 5 Series-rivalling GS will be revealed at the Pebble Beach Concours D’Elegance in California later this month.

Oh my....

It appears as though the Japanese designers of the late 60s have been rehabilitated or something. Way to many different lines, openings, intakes and the like. Busy in the extreme.
