SEAT has made a few changes to the Leon line-up with updates to the racy FR models and the addition of an FR+ trim level.

The sporty 2.0 TDI 168bhp and 2.0 TSI 208bhp cars are now only available as FR+ models while standard FR cars come fitted with a 1.4 TSI 124bhp or 2.0 TDI 138bhp engine only.

They may be down on performance but FR models still get sporty styling. Visual changes over standard Leons include more aggressive front and rear bumpers, silver-painted door mirrors and LED rear lights. Standard kit includes sports seats, rear-parking sensors as well as automatic lights and wipers.

FR+ models get new 18-inch alloy wheels and plenty of additional equipment. Sat-nav, DAB radio, Bluetooth audio streaming, bi-xenon headlights and front parking sensors are all included. SEAT claims that the extra kit costs £2,465 but the list price of the car has only gone up by £1,070.

The changes mean that the FR line-up now starts from £18,205 for the Leon FR 1.4 TSI and rises to £22,615 for the 2.0 TDI 168bhp FR+ equipped with a DSG gearbox.
