Kia bosses are planning a hot version of the next Cee’d, which the company hopes it will be its ‘Golf GTI’ moment.
The car will feature a highly tuned turbo version of the current hatch’s 1.6-litre engine, with around 250bhp. This should mean 0-60mph in around seven seconds and a top speed in excess of 140mph. Sports suspension, bigger brakes and trim upgrades will also feature.
Set to arrive in 2013, with a sub-£20,000 price, the performance model will be based on the three-door version of the next-generation Cee’d, which will be unveiled at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.
