New British car company will debut this luxury SUV at the Frankfurt Motor Show

This is the first official glimpse of a new car from a new British company - Eterniti Motors.

As yet, details on both the car and the company are sketchy but what we do know is that the former will be called Hemera, and is set to take the form of a large crossover in competition with the forthcoming SUVs from Lagonda and Bentley

It will be manufactured in London, where facilities are apparently already secured, and the car will cost well in excess of £100,000.

A spokesman told Auto Express: “The car will enter the very top end of the luxury SUV market, and will place an emphasis on bespoke values. There will be a very high level of specification even on base models, and Eterniti will offer almost unlimited scope for personal customisation.”

The car is apparently based on the platform of an existing crossover – a necessity to enable the fledgling company to get off the ground – thought to be the Porsche Cayenne. Once Eterniti has established itself in the market, it hopes to build its own vehicles from the ground up.

So who’s behind Eterniti? All we know at present is that the project is funded by “an international group of investors with collective experience in high-level luxury and sports car brands, retailing, importing, car components, motorsport and driving.”

The Hemera is due to make its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, with the first orders being taken in 2012. More details will be announced over the next few weeks, so stay tuned for updates.

Oh yeah, that's what we're waiting for... (not)

God, how stupid is this, to make a living as a newcomer in yet another niche market? Can't people work together anymore? DeTomaso reportedly wasted close to a billion euro already. Bristol, Marcos and Invicta closed shop. Antonov will have a hard time making money out of Spyker and Bowler.

You have to laugh

It's a Porsche with a body kit then? No heritage, no brand, no factory - oh they bought a factory, sorry.

This all sounds so flawed. A company driven by a fast buck always fails.

porsche cayenne voted the ugliest vehicle in creation & they hope to do something with it ?? Perhaps a 7'snow scoop on the front , rotating lights of many colours on the top 26X38" nobby tires and mega multi colours - OH and for Europe a 2.0 litre 114HP diesel .

Er what's the date today?

I thought Invicta and Bristol were still in business, ok well that's another two British firms we can cross off of the list then. So this new company, do we get more details? It sounds like a hoax to me, or an investment scam. I hope to be proved wrong as it sounds like we could use some more British bespoke auto firms. Lets face it the chance of having a mainstream one is highly unlikely
