The Chinese are coming... or are they? One of the more intriguing brands at the
Frankfurt Motor Show was Changan, who unveiled four new models.
The firm is among the four biggest in its homeland, and has been expanding globally over the past four years, with development centres opening in Italy, Japan and even Nottingham.
It was the only Chinese concern represented at the show – but its appearance does not signal a full-on assault on the European market. Vice director of marketing Tan Behong explained: “We are considering Europe, but have no concrete plans as yet. We want to use this show to get an impression of what the reaction will be.”
Among the four cars unveiled was a production version of Changan’s mid-size saloon, the Eado. It also revealed the all-electric Clover, an SUV and a concept car flagship, the Sense.
