Peugeot reveals Qashqai rival

Peugeot reveals its version of the Mitsubishi ASX and Citroen C4 Aircross - but says there are no plans to bring it to the UK

Peugeot is launching its own version of the compact SUV. Identical under the skin to the Citroen C4 Aircross, Peugeot’s crossover is influenced by the HR1 concept car, which debuted at last year’s Paris Motor Show.

The front end is very dramatic with a big grille, large LED headlights, bold air intakes and a distinctive dished bonnet.  Look closely at the number plate and you’ll see it wears the 4008 badge – a name that will be used in Australia, one of the markets where sales will start first. This will change for Europe to prevent it from stepping on the toes of the larger 4007 SUV.

Peugeot says there are no plans to bring the new model to the UK.

Best of the bunch

It's not often that Peugeot's styling department come up trumps, but this beats the ASX (wouldn't be hard) and C4 (whatever it's called) hands down.

Wow

Since when has Peugeot regained it's styling mojo? Anyone noticed the neat little styling details all over? Like the Peugeot name appearing beneath the larger badge under the bonnet lip? Or the chrome grille surround that is actually a single piece part of the front crumple zone that extends to and includes the 'air intakes' under the headlights? I'm beginning to look forward to Peugeot's facelifts of eir current models and get rid of their awful "yawning horse face" front look...

In yer face!

In yer face and out of your wallet!
Are they serious?
Im getting bored of Peugeots.
Nothing has been the same since the 406 Coupe.
Shabby.
Problem is that this will not be reliable, definately not.
The Qashqai is a better all rounder.
