Jag expands XF range

Two new diesel models join Jaguar XF line-up

Jaguar XF

24th January 2012

The Jaguar XF range has expanded with the addition of two new variants, the SE Business and the Sport, both employing Jaguar’s 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel.

Based on the recently introduced Diesel SE trim level, the SE Business takes the same 161bhp version of the 2.2-litre diesel engine and adds a £1550 premium to include a seven-inch touchscreen with sat-nav that offers HDD mapping – a £2050 option on the regular SE, meaning a £500 saving.

The Sport variant uses the more potent 188bhp version of the 2.2-litre diesel and is easily distinguished by using the Diesel S model’s aero package which sees a more aggressive front bumper, black grille, side skirts, rear valance and bootlid spoiler. The Sport’s cabin includes combination leather/ suede and cloth on the electrically adjustable and heated seats, stainless steel pedals and ‘Sport’ decals on the centre console. There’s also a heated windscreen, 60/40 split-fold rear seating as well as reversing camera and front parking aid.

The SE Business is priced at £31,500 while the Sport is offered at £34,950. Both variants are in showrooms now.

I Care

Rather be reading about Jag than those jumped up germans in their yawn boxes!

Also looks a lot like a korean design from most angles!

Hardly fair to say nobody but Brits care, as sales were up in India, China, Korea and Russia. Korean designs are looking good now so that could be a compliment.

Am i going mad

Tell me, I have seen the occasional XF with what seems to be lights inside the exhaust at the back! My wife thought i was bonkers till i pointed one out to her, is this some sort of optional extra that is not listed on website or an after marked affair?

@fastpep1

We've not heard of lights inside exhausts before. It could be one of many things - a hole in the exhaust, or that someone has driven it a bit too quickly and overheated the exhaust rim. It's difficult to say without seeing it.

What we do know is that the idea of deliberately putting lights inside an exhaust is just wrong. Very, very wrong. We hope it's not a new trend coming our way!

Thanks for getting in touch,

Yeah really? I care and so do other people that are bored of hearing about boring Euro boxes! Jaguar has come along way, they only make great cars these days. The design, engineering and technology of them is among the best out there. The XF R would be my prefered choice but for economy reasons I think the 2.2 188 bhp diesel maybe the realistic choice.

Youre way out of step bro, but its opinion for opinion on here, and yours is as valid as any.
I'd never buy a body-in-white car. Are they cheaper unpainted?? Yuk, who was the lunatic that thought motor vehicles had to emulate kitchen appliances?? I like the way the front has now been fixed, including the gloopy lights of the orignial, and delighted with the almost genius design of the lack of shutlines...... I'm still confused though. If the 2.7L turbo diesel in the original XF didnt cut it.......lacklustre performance....how on earth will a small 2.2L 4 cylinder?? Jaguar have got half way there with small engines, now when do they rip big kgs [150-200] out of the weight of the car?? What is the Cd of the XF?? Class leading?? Probably not, sadly.
