Wait until the all new Mazda CX-5 is out in a few months, it will be a game changer, All new F1 style high compression 2.0 158 bhp SKYACTIV Petrol Engines and all new 2.2 SA Diesel 117g/km of CO2, with the best in class MPG for both engines, plus 6 Speed AWD Auto's, and 6 Speed FWD Manual Trans...priced similar to the Subaru XV.
How's that work? A CVT, by definition, has infinite gear ratios. So what's the point of using a CVT design then restricting it to 6 arbitrarily-set speeds?
I don't doubt the XV is an highly effective crossover, but as 'RX888' mentions above it (and its rivals) will face some very stiff competition in the form of the excellent CX5.
With respect chaps, how can you make a comparison with a CX5 when it it's not available and no one has driven it yet? and as for a 6 speed CVT, surely they mean DSG, don't they?
