First pictures and details of a more powerful Audi TT RS plus have been released.

The TT RS plus is powered by the same 2.5-litre TFSI engine as the standard TT RS, but it now delivers 360bhp. The extra 20bhp helps propel the Coupe and Roadster to a top speed of 173mph while returning average fuel economy of 27mpg.

This isn't the first time Audi has produced a hotter RS model, the first being the limited-edition RS6 plus in 2004. With a small power increase, the car was exclusive to the European market and came with subtle styling tweaks to the exterior.

Similarly, the TT RS plus gains 19-inch five-arm “Rotor” wheels, painted black with contrasting red rims. A diamond mesh, polished anthracite radiator grille completes the front end, while a fixed rear wing improves downforce at the rear.

The TT RS plus comes with Audi's Quattro four-wheel-drive and magnetic ride systems, as well as the option of a seven-speed dual-clutch S tronic gearbox - the latter commands a £2,000 premium over the traditional six-speed manual.

Specifying the S tronic means the Coupe can go from 0-62mph in just 4.1 seconds, which is two-tenths of a second quicker than the manual. The Roadster completes the same task in 4.2 and 4.4 seconds respectively.

UK prices and availability have yet to be confirmed, but we can expect a premium of around £5,000 over the standard TT RS, which starts at just over £45,000.

"but we can exotic a premium of around £5,000".
Good verbage....

I was looking for 370ish bhp. Audi need some beefier petrol engines, I can't have a 376bhp diesel BMW having bragging rights. Audi need a 400bhp 3.0 or under engine.

You cant compare a Large Diesel car to a Sports Car?

I own a 535d with a DMS remap around 350bhp and it isnt in the same league as a standard TTRS at the end of the day it a Tractor. The TTRS is in a completeley different league and it alos cheaper then a M550D which isnt even coming to the UK!!!

I was just thinking of engines, not the actual car. BMW may decide to put their engine in a sports car.

LOL...beachland

The day, a 376 BHP Diesel BMW rides as fast as a 360 BHP Gasoline engined car which weighs at least half a ton less is the day the world is going to end...
