Rest Rooms On The Rise

A scheme that allows weary motorists to grab 40 winks at a hotel for only £5 has proved so popular it's being extended across the whole country.

Travelodge launched the 'Catnap and Coffee' initiative at eight of its roadside sites in October, and we put it to the test in issue 781. We found the break helped to revitalise a tired driver, and that hand-eye coordination was boosted by up to a third after a doze.

Following our report, bosses have vowed to extend the available rest period to an hour when all 170 of its hotels introduce the scheme during this year.
