Sling Shot Set To Take Aim

We revealed in September 2002 (issue 723) how the Dodge muscle car brand was coming to Europe. Now it has been confirmed, what models will be available?

14th January 2004

Apart from the Viper, Dodge will hit showrooms in 2006. The line-up will include a production version of the Sling Shot (above), unveiled at Detroit. While it has yet to get the final go-ahead, one insider said: "People are talking about volumes, and that's a sure sign it'll be built."

There will also be a replacement for the slow-selling Chrysler Neon, which has now been axed from the UK line-up. Joe Eberhardt, Chrysler's executive vice-president of marketing and sales, told us: "Dodge is an amazing brand. It's been the Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge group's top seller for the past decade and in 2003 sold 1.2million cars. We're very excited about the potential in Europe."
