New Mazda Hot Hatch Breaks 3

Here's a first glimpse at a new Mazda 3. The Japanese maker plans to produce performance versions of all its models, and this vehicle - unveiled at the Tokyo Auto Salon design forum - is the first indication of how the hot 3 is shaping up.

The Mazda3 Sport Mazdaspeed A-spec features an aggressive nose, rear underskirt and spoiler and 18-inch alloys. To improve the handling, Mazda has added performance springs and dampers, while a new air filter and muffler appear. Meanwhile, the MX Micro Sport featured in last week's issue will make production as a hot version of the 2. Priced around ΂£14,000, it will arrive later this year.
