Girls Spurn Car Factory Careers

A boffin has been moonlighting on a production line to find out why few women seek jobs building cars. Dr Fiona Moore, of Kingston University, Surrey, did 10-hour shifts at the MINI factory near Oxford. She says most women at car plants are single or have grown-up children. Young mums don't apply for jobs due to the lack of focus on child care issues.
