Pick-up RAMs Into Record Books

No wonder this man is smiling - he's just entered the Guinness Book of World Records. This is American race ace Brenden Gaughan, and the sign he's holding shows the speed he managed to get out of a Dodge Ram SRT-10 pick-up truck.

12th February 2004

By hitting 154.587mph over a flying kilometre, the SRT-10 is officially the fastest production pick-up ever. It's powered by an 8.3-litre V10 engine producing 500bhp, and Gaughan broke the record at DaimlerChrysler's proving ground in Chelsea, Michigan. The previous mark was held by a Ford SVT F-150 Lightning, with a top speed of 148mph.
