Mini's Wise Move

Could this be a first look at the CityRover Streetwise? Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, this bodykitted supermini could be appearing on UK forecourts as early as 2005.

The model was actually on the stand of Indian manufacturer TATA - the firm which builds the hatchback and the CityRover. Called the Indigo Advent, it's based on the estate version of the Indica, labelled Indigo SW, which is expected to be available in Britain by the middle of next year.

The Advent features a bolt-on bodykit to give a 'soft-roader' appearance, and the ride height has been raised by 70mm for additional ground clearance. The interior has also been given a makeover, and is trimmed in cream leather, while satellite-navigation is fitted as standard.

Rover bosses are remaining tight-lipped over whether or not the Advent will make it here as a Streetwise version of its supermini, but TATA has confirmed that the new model will be coming to Europe. A spokesman for the Indian maker told Auto Express: "Perhaps over time the Indigo SW and Advent will go to the UK with Rover badges." Geneva image library
