Scientists at the Transport Research Laboratory in Berkshire hope to turn rush-hour into hush-hour by making sound-proofing for tyres. They're testing noise deaden- ing on wheelarches to quieten the sound of rubber on tarmac - often the noisiest part of a new vehicle.
